Editing and cancelling existing invoices
How to edit or delete draft invoices, cancel sent invoices, and what is locked once a payment is recorded.
To keep your records clean, what you can change on an invoice depends on whether it has been issued and whether payments have been recorded.
Editing and cancelling
- Draft invoices can be edited or deleted. Issued invoices cannot be deleted; cancel them instead.
- To cancel a Draft or Sent invoice, change its status to Cancelled in the status column of the invoice list.
- Once a payment is recorded, it cannot be removed, and the invoice's currency and exchange rate are locked.
- When an invoice is Cancelled, its public link stops working.
Important NoteInvollo does not issue credit notes. A client who opens the link of a cancelled invoice sees a message that the invoice link is not available.
