Recording partial and manual payments
Record bank deposits, cash, or installment payments against an outstanding invoice balance.
When clients pay by bank transfer or in installments, you can record each payment manually so the invoice balance stays correct.
How to record a payment manually
- Navigate to Invoices and open the invoice.
- Click Mark as Paid. The Record Payment dialog opens.
- Enter the Payment Amount, Payment Date, and payment method (bank transfer, cash, cheque or other).
- Add an optional Reference / Notes entry (such as a transfer confirmation number).
- Click Confirm & Record Payment. The remaining balance updates, and the invoice shows Partially paid or Paid.
Helpful TipClients visiting the public invoice link will see the recorded partial payment credit and the exact remaining balance due.
