Billing expenses back to clients on invoices
Mark expenses as billable to a client, link them to an invoice, and add them to the invoice as a line item.
When you incur costs on behalf of a client—such as stock photography, travel, or domain registrations—you can pass them through for reimbursement.
Reimbursing client expenses
- When adding or editing the expense, optionally choose the client's Project.
- Tick Billable to client.
- Optionally choose the invoice under Link to Client Bill (Invoice). Only Draft or Sent invoices are listed; leave it on Awaiting Invoicing if there is no invoice yet.
- Save the expense, then edit that invoice and add the expense as a line item yourself (Add Item).
Important NoteLinking an expense does not change the invoice. Expenses are not imported automatically and have no attachments.
